How do you polish scratched clear plastic?

the clear plastic cover of my headlights, mercedes benz 2001 E220 is blurred with tiny scratches. can the blurring be removedHow do you polish scratched clear plastic?
These may not be scratches but are environmental stress cracks caused by exposure to UV radiation. If this is the case then there is nothing much you can do.


If it is real scratches, you can try those CD disk repair kits (not cleaning kits) which are silicone based to repair light scratches.usually sold at PC fairs or DVD shops.

The traditional method is to use metal polish Brasso UK or you can use T-Cut, it is used to clean aircraft windows, so must be OK for all other plastics,


When I was a child everybody cleaned their bakelite with Brasso.
yes with a very fine grit polish and a polisher try a paint store that sells automotive products also try a Hobey store that sells jewelry
The auto parts stores have a polishing compound for that now.
