The substance you used most likely melted the plastic, which is why it is now discolored. Not much. I'm guessing you didn't read the instructions on this mystery substance where it says to try it on an inconspicous spot. What substance and what type of plastic might help, but otherwise, I would say you're out of luck. Windex with ammonia is very hard on plastic. If you have an LCD screen monitor or TV, never use Windex (or any ammonia cleaner) on it. Use a plastic cleaner specifically formulated for it. Read all instructions and use accordingly.
