Is there a specific meaning to a man wearing a clear plastic ring on his ring finger?

A guy I know wears this ring on his wedding band finger, but isn't married. The ring is barely noticeable, but it has caught my eye the past couple of days. I don't want to ask him what it is for fear of offending him.Is there a specific meaning to a man wearing a clear plastic ring on his ring finger?
Ok, when I was @ Marine Corps boot camp, I was in the rehab platoon and we got away with a lot more, and I found a clear band for our hair that I saw a lot of the females wearing on their wedding finger. One day my friend saw that I wore it (it was for my fiance ... now husband because I missed him and we weren't allowed to wear rings) and they said that only the lesbians wore it. I took it off immediately. I guess it's their way of saying they're gay.Is there a specific meaning to a man wearing a clear plastic ring on his ring finger?

maybe hes just super cheap. i wouldnt date him! no really, i have a friend who wears a really cheap ring on his finger instead of a wedding band because the rings do not mean anything to them... and my little sister wears a fake engagement ring on her finger to keep from guys hitting on her alot, but i dont know why this guy would wear a clear one. as far as i know, theres no symbolism... maybe you should ask him.
