Can Inkjet printers print on clear plastic sheets?

In the past, I would print on 8.5'; x 11'; clear plastic sheets (about as thick or a little thicker than paper) using a LasorJet printer and had good results. Except when it was too thin and the heat tended to kind of curl or warp it.

Will inkjet printers print on the same material? Or does it have to have some coating? Can Inkjet printers print on clear plastic sheets?
I would imagine that you need to purchase inkjet specific transparency sheets. The way inkjet paper and laser paper accept ink differ quite a bit. I do see with a quick search of ebay that they do make inkjet specific sheets: http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=Inkjet+鈥?/a>

You can try the sheets you have, I don't think trying to print on one or 2 will harm your printer, but I doubt they will hold the ink without smearing.

Good luck,
