We are re-organizing our office marketing department. We use tons of advertisement literature that is stored in boxes on shelves (our literature room kind of resembles a library). Most of these are brochures %26amp; data sheets printed on 8 1/2 x 11 sized paper. There are over 500 different sheets that all have to be inventoried on a regular basis. Our shelves are custom built and fit exactly three, 8 1/2 x 11, boxes across. It would be helpful to replace the cardboard boxes with clear plastic bins of the same size so the paper level inside could be seen at a glance even from a distance. This would speed the inventory process. Does anyone know if plastic bins of this type and size exist? I have done many searches online for bin systems, paper storage systems, and inventory control systems, but haven't had any luck yet. Can you help me?Do they make clear plastic 8 1/2 x 11 bins, that can store stacks of paper?

Obviously a clear, acrylic storage system would be your best bet.
You can certainly try to adapt acrylic storage systems or even have your own system fabricated... it won't cost as much as you might think because the cost of engineering/cutting plastic isn't nearly the cost of engineering/cutting steel, for example.
Check out this source as a start:

There are LOTS of acrylic fabricators on the Internet... you can choose one based on location, or ask for quotes from several to shop for the best price.
Think about getting pre-grooved acrylic sheets that panels of acrylic could slide into... this would allow you to easily a) view the supply, b) ';restock'; an empty bin, and c) configure your bins to accommodate almost any size stock.
Hope this helps,

I have never been able to find that size box. It sounds like your problem is that you can't fit a larger box into the space that you have.
Based on the number to need, you might consider a custom manufacturer for either a box or simple tray design with bent up ends but no sides made out of clear plastic stock.
